Bargnani – still not convinced he should have been the one demoted over Moon, but evidently Bargs is the same player off the bench as he is in the starting lineup most nights. 3 points and disinterest on the defensive end just won’t get it done…or get him minutes.
Bosh – probably over-exerted himself mid/late 4th quarter just to make sure people knew he would back up his own words. It’s a shame, because he had a pretty good game up until that point. He played great defence, picking up no fouls, and was riding his teammates pretty hard when they were out of position or were just plain Jamar..errr..boneheaded. 21 and 6 is a pretty good night at the office.
Calderon – a class act, to be sure, but lets just hope his move benefits the team in the long run. His shots were pretty poor from long range, so he took it inside to good success. Hopefully he picked up a few of the things Billups was putting down tonight, because he will need them in the playoffs.
Delfino – well that missed dunk had me worried, but I think he realized who he was playing and stepped up to the plate…finally. Still far from impressed with how he plays his man, but at least his shot decided to show up. 10pts on 50% shooting is not a great game, but when it comes from Carlos Delfino, it’s like Wilt’s 100.
Ford – sucky boy got what he wanted, just like the spoiled little brat he seems to be. He’s got a lot of favour to win back from this city, and those boos reminded him of it. Well deserved at that point, but he picked it up and came through in the end, just missing a double double with 13 and 9. May I suggest never playing with a headband again? Thanks…now here’s your bottle, priss.
Kapono – well, his hair looked good and he put his uniform on the right way. He actually took his warmups off for 9minutes too. He’s so pretty.
Moon – what happens when you play a depleted tired team? Jamario Moon happens. Just once I’d like to see his dunks on a highlight show and for them to be a crowning jewel to an all around great game. Yes, he had 2 great looking dunks, both as a trailer to a fast break caused by a turnover. 4 shots and 2 boards just doesn’t cut it when we need every board we can get.
Nesterovic – liked the haircut. Made him a little bit aerodynamic too since he picked up 4 blocks to go with his 15pts and 9 boards in 46 (!) minutes. How long until this guy has his own Chunky Soup commercial?
Parker – do you think AP thought they had today off too in addition to no practice this past Monday? Whoever that was out there, it wasn’t the recent Anthony Parker. He deserved a night off, though, and it was nice to see his teammates pull one out for him.

Scott,
After every game now, I’ve been expecting something along the lines of “Spudz, you’ve been right about Rasho all along. I bow down to your basketball knowledge,” but I just haven’t seen it YET.
Maybe next post?

You will see it when he proves his contract value. He has a LOT of ground to make up.
A cynical person, of which I am FAR from one (achem), would wonder if the timing of his “I can still do this” feats of basketball wizardry is timed to his option-year contract coming up. Maybe he is looking for a longer deal somewhere and by willing to take a cut. Somewhere like Brent Barry-ville.
Just sayin.

Why are you shocked about Bargnani being demoted over Moon? Moon plays too many minutes for his talent level, there’s no doubt about that but he still produces something and plays good enough defense. I’m all for Moon being benched but who are you going to start? Delfino? Graham? Don’t say Bargnani at the 3.
I’m not surprised Bargs was benched, he wasn’t playing well and was one of the reasons why we were getting off to such slow starts. Simply put a player who plays his position was playing better and Sam made a numbers move.

What does Moon produce? Honestly? He has had two games in the past ten where he has attempted more than 10 shots. I’m all for him taking smart shots, but the majority of makes over that stretch (including last night) were dunks. Where is he the rest of the time? Outside the arc, waiting, standing, waiting, standing, hoping for a long rebound or an alley-oop pass.
Defensively he is spotty, but I agree that, before last night, he had a good stretch. However, I still am not a fan of his man on man D and he needs to play his man tighter.
If nothing else, Moon is the perfect example of a Raptor player. Lots of promise met with a lot of laissez faire attitude. A game or two of flash, but five or six of turtling.
