The Raptors obviously wouldn’t be able to finish third, considering they are in the same division as the Celtics. So the Pistons will still finish third in the East, but will have a worse record than both the Raptors and the Sixers.
With O’Neal and Bosh in the middle, the Raptors should do great. Every time Bosh got the ball down low last season he would immediately get double-teamed. With O’Neal helping out on the low block, he creates space for Bosh to get to the hoop one-on-one. And if Bosh still gets double-teamed, it creates a wide-open Jermaine O’Neal.
Add in ball control point guard Jose Calderon and emerging Anthony Parker, Jamario Moon, and Andrea Bargnani, and the Raptors should do great!
Former Toronto Raptor centre Pape Sow will be playing in Italy again next season.
Armani Jeans Milano of Italy’s top Serie A pro league announced the signing of the 26-year-old Sow, a native of Senegal, for the 2008-09 season, with a team option for the following season.
Sow says on the team’s website that he’s “very happy” to have signed with the club. “I cannot wait to start working with my new team, to play and to see how far we can get.”
Thinking about some Raptors I really enjoyed watching over the years. The obvious come to mind like Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady, Damon too but there was a second-tier of Raptors that I always looked forward to seeing do their thing. These guys weren’t superstars by any means and some of them weren’t even good players, they were just medicore talents that shone through here and there and left you with a good feeling. There’ll be disagreements here obvoiusly because of how subjective this list is but that’s part of what makes these players ’special’.
All the talk this summer has been about the steadily improving Eastern Conference, which will be highly competitive for the first time in years when the season tips off this fall. What will likely be lost among the great play is the role that the Atlantic division played in the revitalization of the conference as a whole.
Yes, gone are the days of the “Titanic” division or the “Crap-lantic” division. For that era began to close with the ending of the “loveable losers” era in Toronto. And now, a group of teams that were among the most ridiculed in pro sports just two years ago while embedded in a laughable division and a lackluster conference are the same teams that two years later, are leading that very conference’s resurgence.
The Atlantic is now the best division in the East, and is comparable and possibly competitive with a division or two in the ridiculously talented Western Conference.
Do you believe the teams in the Atlantic were the spark that ignited the re-birth of the East? Will the Sixers or Raptors be able to de-throne the Celtics as division champions? Will the NBA champions come from the East once again?
Another smoking hot hip hop honey that is coming out! This one is a tasty caramel! Miss beautiful Kayona Birch. She was born and raised in Montreal. She came to Toronto Ontario due to her dream of being a hip-hop dancer. She got her first job as a hip-hop dancer for the Toronto Raptors Dance Pack and work with such artists as Ashanti and choreographer Shane from so you think you can dance.

Had to do a double-take on that “emerging Anthony Parker” crap. Emerging from what? If Anthony Parker is emerging, then what does that make Chris Bosh? A rookie?
Well, compared to his previous NBA experience, he is emerging. How many average NBA fans saw him play in Europe? Hell, how many people even knew he existed?
Personally, I think to say he is emerging is a fair statement.
the raps have just singed will solomon. I don’t know him and i never saw him play but i heard he’s a mature and intelligent player who, just like ap spen the first part of his carrer in the nba and later move to europe where he did a very good job. Anyone can say anything about the guy? is he a pg a short sg or a combo guard? what can he bring?
He’s certainly emerging. Two years of steady ball, defensively and offensively and people are just starting to notice? Not that it means anything though, it’s not like he’s a starter on most teams anyway.
