Shot the day before Team USA left for China, this latest must-see video from Chris Bosh is a quick, candid and entertaining look at what it’s like to sit down for some Wendy’s with Deron Williams, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul and LeBron James. Honestly, when was the last time you rolled into a San Francisco gas station and stumbled upon five of the best hoopsters on the planet? Such scenarios just do not happen all that often.
There are some things that none of us can know till we see it come together on a basketball court. Even Sam Mitchell can only put together a plan of attack at this point. It will be up to the 13 players that make up this roster to buy into that plan of action and go out and perform it on the floor. That is the reality of things when all is said and done. But we can target many things that will be key to that plan no matter what it is to work or not. That is what I will try to do today. So here is a list of the key factors that are required to a successful Raptor attack.
Burns is wrong when he says that we don’t have any cap flexibility, sure we don’t have cap flexibility next summer but in 2010 when O’Neal comes off and Bosh has a player option, we’ll have more money to spend than anyone else in the league. This is a Catch-22 situation, if we happen to suck for the next two years it won’t matter how much cap space we have, nobody will come to a losing team in Toronto. It’s imperative that we make the playoffs and show some resilience once there if we hope to attract some free-agents when we do have space. I don’t think the lure of playing with Chris Bosh is enough for a serious free agent no matter how much money you pay him. At the end of the day the franchise needs to be attractive, not the money.
