The “I think those watches needed a bit more winding” edition
Banks – one can only hope that father time sucked him into that “lost hour” vortex this morning. Oh to be so lucky.
Bargnani – another fine game hampered by the sudden re-appearance of his propensity to foul..and often. Both he and Mehmet had the opportunity to put on a fine shooting display, but it never materialized.
Bosh – ho-hum, another double double 30pt game. Was hugely disappointing to see him left to fend for himself in the dying minutes. Reminded me of the old Vince days where they would give him the ball and just…watch. No help, no flashes to his side to bail out, nothing. Of course, that’s what coaches are for.
Calderon – better, but nowhere near where he should be as the starting PG on an NBA team. Bosh was bailing him out on assists, but some of Jose’s passes today were just dumb. Also, hate Leo all you want, but he was right when calling out Bosh and Jose to continue to drive.
Graham – reminds me of that cheap Bic lighter that once in every 3 tries it actually gives you a flame and not a spark. Broke out of his shell a little bit today, probably trying to woo his brothers woman away from him. I would too……girl was smokin’.
Humphries – while sitting on the sidelines, Humph has been busy songwriting.
Kapono – lately he has been like a character in a Whac-A-Mole game. He just kind of pops out of nowhere before you even realize he is there. Which, when your best PG is Jose, that isn’t the best way to play. Sadly, he has been hitting his shots, but he just isn’t being found by his teammates.
Marion – anybody backtracking on this guy yet? 8 and 8 today with an effort that reminds you of players past. Not saying he is floating or not looking to be aggressive or providing a weak-ass attempt at try and pull his defenders away from help defense or out of the paint. Well, actually, yes I am.
Mensah-Bonsu – needs a bit more time in our (wait for it…wait for it…) system, but he certainly exerts effort. Does bother me a but that he seems to look for a rebound or a block over defending his own man, though. Couple of times guys snuck around him for an easy board today. Has a few days now to watch tape and learn where guys will be. Jury is out until next Sunday.
O’Bryant – as hopeless as Arsenal catching Villa.
Parker – haters to the left and to the right, but another heck of a showing for a man playing out of position because some weakass pig farmer can’t live up to expectations. As much as people look back longingly at Jorge and Carlos, when they see AP wearing another jersey and we are stuck with a flamenco band dressed as farmers as a backcourt, they will look back at AP with a jealous head hanging low.
Ukic – nice to see his look of concern in the locker room at halftime. Worthless.
